Multidisciplinary approach
The diagnostic approach and therapeutic direction in DMD care is evolving to achieve prevention, early identification and treatment of predictable and potentially modifiable disease complications by implementing more anticipatory diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.1
The care of DMD patients is extensive and requires the involvement of a multidisciplinary team. While neuromuscular management and rehabilitation are central, assessments and interventions from several other specialist healthcare professionals (e.g., physiotherapists, occupational therapists, orthotists, and cardiologists) are also necessary.1,2
